If you want to make a difference, and live an extraordinary life, this book has some great tips for you.There are 120 tips listed, and I was able to pick out 10 or so that I could start to work on right away. Some I have done before, and just needed a reminder, and some will be new for me.The author does a good job presenting them - the number can be overwhelming, but he breaks it down and offers brief explanations after each one which makes it easy to read, and then move on.The quotes are also very good - I would like to have had the author of the quote provided just for my information, but I recognized many of them.Liked the suggestion for aim for progress, not perfection. This was a great book that I wish I had about a year ago. I won't go into too much detail, but I had a very traumatic experience that triggered ongoing anxiety and panic attacks for months after. Needless to say if anyone has had a similar experience they know what I'm talking about when I say I searched for ANY and all possible ways I could think of to get my mind and nervous system out of the gutter and back in balance so that I could FUNCTION in everyday life again. This book would have been a godsend to me if I had access to it at that time! Many of these techniques and ways of looking at things I have tried and found out of necessity on my journey, so I know from personal experience that they work if you apply them. Good luck and God bless to anyone who needs help in this area.
Forgive me if this review seems inaccurate to those of you who completed the entire book - I may have missed some good content by not finishing it but what I did read made me feel as though the author was minimizing the effects that anxiety has on a person. I have been living with anxiety /panic disorder for 10 years and while the advice and ideas given in the book are excellent ideas for minimizing stress, those same ideas aren't so easily doable to overcome severe anxiety. Meditation, getting more sleep and having more quiet time, just to name a few, are not easy solutions and especially not a "cure " for those of us who suffer panic and anxiety every day. While this book would definitely be helpful for people who need to destress (and we all need that, right?) I feel this book may disappoint people who are desperate to find some relief from the horrific symptoms and dibillating effects that we face daily from panic disorder and severe anxiety. I'm glad though, from reading a few of the reviews, that many people found this book helpful.
